Obituary For Aaron Ryan Tyler Russo

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, Aaron Ryan Tyler Russo, who departed this life on February 27, 2025, at the age of 16. Aaron was born on November 24, 2008, in Norfolk, Virginia, where he also left us, surrounded by his loving family, at the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters (CHKD).

Aaron was a bright and spirited young man, a current 10th-grade student at Smithfield High School. He found joy and inspiration in the world of video games and art, where his creative talents truly shone. A passionate fan of comics, Aaron held a particular affinity for Marvel comics, with Iron Man standing as his favorite hero.

Despite the challenges posed by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Aaron faced life with courage and resilience, inspiring all who knew him with his unyielding spirit and infectious enthusiasm.

Aaron is survived by his devoted mother, Nicole Powell, his father, Jason Russo, and his supportive stepfather, Kelvin Powell. He leaves behind his cherished brothers, Anthony Russo and Eric Powell, and stepbrothers, Kelvin and Patrick Powell. Aaron will be lovingly remembered by his grandparents, Thomas Hughes, Roberta Miller, Michael and Joyce Russo, his great-grandfather, Jesse Hughes and his Uncle Dana Hughes and Aunt Rebecca Ahlemeyer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in honor of Aaron on March 22, 2025, at 12 noon at Heritage United Methodist Church, located at 815 Baker Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Aaron's life and the many ways in which he touched those around him.

In this time of mourning, Aaron’s family wishes to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved him.

May he rest in eternal peace.
