I have just learned the news about Addie's passing. I am sad and feel like I have lost a friend and someone who genuinely cared about others. I taught First Grade as a peer with Addie at Mt. Zion Elementary for several years. I also had the joy and pleasure of having my son, Jonathan, in her first grade class there as well. Whenever I saw her (not often enough) she asked about my children as if they were her own niece and nephew;she wanted to hear about their lives and families. There was never a more caring compassionate soul in the teaching profession. Her kind heart and diligent educational skills touched many, many students. There are many, many student in our area who got the best start at a good education if they were in "Miss Eley's Class." I miss my friend. I will keep Addie's family in my prayers. Addie was truly one of the special people you will never forget.
