Aida Patricia Gonzalez (Patty), 67, died February 4th , 2022 after a long battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease at home in Virginia Beach, VA. Patty was born on July 26,1954 to Dr. George and Carmela Arrambide in Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Patty was the oldest of 6 children born to George and Carmela. She is survived by her mother and her brothers George, Joseph, Robert, Paul, and half-sister Aimee. She is preceded in death by her father and sister Elizabeth.

Patty's greatest pride (and success) was raising her 3 daughters: Jessica of San Antonio, TX, Anna (Arthur) of Virginia Beach, VA and Cristina (Jim) of Lander, WY. Her second greatest joy in life came when she became Buela to 4 handsome grandsons, 1 precious granddaughter, and 5 fur-grandbabies. She was also a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Patty/ Mom (as she affectionately referred to herself) loved all things related to teaching young children. Her work at school brought much happiness and wonderful stories of her students’ daily lessons. She also cherished spending time with her friends playing Pokeno, Mahjong, and visiting the Chrysler Museum. She had an infectious laugh that would bring an entire group to uncontrollable laughter. Patty/ Mom was a force to be reckoned with, compassionate and strong. She was taken from us far too early.

Her celebration of life will be held on the beach behind Little Island Park in Virginia Beach (3820 S. Sandpiper Rd 23456) on June 26, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. The family asks in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of a loved one. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the team at Magnolia Manor and Heartland Hospice for their extraordinary care of our mother during this phase of her life.
