Obituary For Alan Robert James

Alan Robert James, also known affectionately as Bobby to family, passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 59 in Virginia Beach, VA. He was born on May 13, 1964, in Bristol, PA.

Alan's life was marked by a deep passion for literature and writing. His poems were channels of profound thought and emotion, touching the hearts of many. Music was another cornerstone of his existence, finding solace in playing his guitar. Alongside these creative pursuits, Alan found joy in the simplicity of hunting, fishing, gardening, and the serenity of the outdoors.

Later in his life, Alan dedicated himself to aiding others in their battles with drug and alcohol addiction. He actively supported programs like the Oxford House, working closely with his dear friend, Richard Jackson, to spread awareness and provide assistance to those in need.

Alan is reunited in the afterlife with his beloved daughters, Brittany James and Victoria James, his mother Edith James, father Alan James, sister Novelle James, grandmother Helen Erickson, grandfather Warren Erickson, grandfather Elmer James, grandmother Eleanor James, aunt Rosemary Erickson, and uncle William Erickson.

He leaves behind his sister Cami Lindgren, brother-in-law Gordon Lindgren, uncles Raymond Erickson and Robert Erickson, aunt Jennifer Erickson, nephew Alexander Lindgren, nieces June Davis (and her husband Albert Davis), Elizabeth Benkert, Shaundalh James, and Angel James, along with countless friends and community members whose lives he touched with his kindness and dedication.

Alan's legacy of compassion, creativity, and unwavering support for those in need will be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

    Alan thank you for always being there for me and raising me and my brothers and sisters I will never forget you and all the good times we has as a family, I will always remember that smile and bear hug you gave me when I told you I was pregnant and happy you were and the tears in your eyes when you said I'm gonna be a grandpa..... you were a great stepdad I love you always......kimmy
