Alice Marie Green, 88, of Chesapeake passed away April 7, 2025. She was born on June 5, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois to William and Omey Lee Primous.

Alice was married to Emmett Hawkins, Jr. until 1963. A union that produced 1 son, Gerard Hawkins (deceased) and one daughter Lise Glascoe. She married Decatur Green, Jr in 1968.

Alice graduated from DuSable High School and later attended Chicago Loop College. She would spend her early work life as a civil servant, first with the U.S. Postal Service, then with the Social Security Administration. Following her dream of self-empowerment and entrepreneurship, she became a real estate broker. A job she would hold until her 2007 retirement.

Alice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid line dancer attending multiple Chicago classes. She was a sophisticated world traveler who visited a dozen countries and lived in Mexico and Brazil for a short time. She relocated to Chesapeake, Virginia to be closer to her family,

Alice is survived by her husband, Decatur Green; her daughter, Lise Glascoe; her 2 grandsons, Tristan and Rashad Glascoe, and a host of friends, family and relatives.

A service to celebrate Alice's life will be held on May 13, 2025 at 6:00 pm at the Dr. Clarence V Cuffee Center located at 2019 Windy Road Chesapeake, VA 23324.
