Born on August 7, 1939, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Andres was the beloved son of the late Maria DeJesus and Ambrosio Martinez. He grew up with a strong sense of family values and a commitment to service which he carried throughout his life.
Andres began his professional journey as a Receptionist at Bellevue Hospital in New York, where he developed a keen appreciation for healthcare and patient support. His career progressed as he became a Certified Medical Technician for the City of New York, a position he held with dedication for 11 years. A devout member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Andres participated actively in church life as a Eucharistic Minister and contributed to the Arts & Environment committee. His unwavering faith and generous spirit were recognized when he received the Outstanding Merit Award in 2015, acknowledging his remarkable 8,750 hours of volunteer service to veterans by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Andres loved to travel and visited many places locally and internationally with his family.
