Chesapeake, VA - Angela Kristen (Purdy) Mott, aged 53, a beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, in Chesapeake, VA. Born on July 27, 1973, in Nashville, TN, Angela's warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.

Angela was a dedicated scholar, beginning her education at Etowah High School before graduating from South Plantation High School. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to the University of Florida and Florida State University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Her passion for helping others was evident as she continued her studies, obtaining two Master's degrees—one in Special Education and another in Library and Information Science.

Angela applied her expertise and passion in her professional life, working in Software Support for Atlas Systems, Inc., where she was a respected and valued team member. Her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impact on her colleagues and clients alike.

A devoted family woman, Angela is survived by her loving parents, Clifford Purdy and Jan (Holcomb), and her beloved husband, Thomas R. Mott. She leaves behind a circle of family and friends who will miss her deeply.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday the 28th of August at 10am at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 233 Mann Dr. Chesapeake, VA 23322. There will be a luncheon afterward at 11am in the parish hall.
