Obituary For Ashley Leighann Williams

Ashley Leighann Williams, of Newport News, passed away June 20, 2026, at the age of 41.

Ashley worked in the shipbuilding industry as an administrative assistant. She approached life with determination and resilience, and those fortunate enough to know her will remember the warmth she shared and the difference she made in their lives.

Although words cannot fully express the loss felt by her family and friends, they take comfort in the memories they will forever carry in their hearts.

Ashley is survived by her Mom Mechelle Williams, 3 children, Aniya (Jay), Talan and Elijah and a grandson, Kyree.

Simply Cremation is assisting Ashley’s family during this time of remembrance and reflection.

    Ashley, I just heard of your passing last week, and it brought back so many memories of the years we spent growing up together. I know Matt, and I were much closer, but you were always like a little sister to me. My heart is heavy knowing you're gone, and I'm still trying to find the words. It's been a long time since we've seen each other, but I know you will always be in my heart and memories. My heart goes out to your family, your beautiful children and all those who loved you deeply. I hope they find comfort in knowing how deeply you were cherished and how many lives you touched. Though your time here was far too short, your memory will continue to live on in the stories we tell, the smiles you inspired, and the love you left behind. I wish I could've been there to say goodbye, to see your momma, Michelle, and to give her a hug the size of the sky. I hope she reads this and knows how much y'all meant to me growing up. She was and is such a strong woman, and she raised a strong woman. I pray for peace that surpasses understanding and comfort for everyone who was blessed to know you, and until we see each other again, rest peacefully, sweet little Ashley.
