Obituary For Carla Rae August
Virginia Beach- Carla passed away on May 18 after a short illness. Born in Salisbury, MD, she moved to Virginia Beach in 1979 and pursued a career in health care. She worked at Southeastern TrainingCenter for 35 years, becoming a second “Mom” to countless residents. She won many awards for her selfless devotion and professionalism while employed there.
Predeceased by parents, Ruth and Jim August and step-father, Bill Murray, she is survived by sister Gayle (Steven) Ratajczyk, brother Chris (Dawn) August, step-sister Tammy Murray, 5 nieces and nephews (Jenna, Josh, Ross, Ryan and Kyle) and 9 great nieces and nephews (Aaron, Riley, Stella, Gavin, Sybil, Jamison, Maci, Harrison and Stevie). The kids loved their Aunt “Carwa,” her infectious laugh and constant smile. She will be sorely missed.
The family wants to thank all those who visited Carla in the hospital and wrote notes of encouragement. She greatly appreciated them and they helped lift her spirits. A celebration of Carla’s life will be held at a later date.

I went to school with Carla. She was a beautiful soul and had no enemies. She was loved by all. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. May peace find her family as she returns to God's loving arms. Diana Lynne Palmer Whitney
