Virginia Beach - Cathy Boozer Taylor, 78, a much-loved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia with her son, daughters, grandchildren, and son-in-law present.

She was born on January 7, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Warren Boozer and Georgianna Voight Boozer. She graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Moore College.

She moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia, in the mid-1960s when she married and raised three children. She is survived by her son, Edward Taylor Jr. (spouse, Stephanie Sekerdy Taylor); twin daughters, Stephanie Taylor Backowski (spouse, Jeff Backowski) and Kimberly Taylor Moorefield (spouse, Tim Moorefield); and her five grandchildren: Blake Taylor, Kirtley Taylor, Collin Moorefield, Kellyn Moorefield, and Conner Backowski.

She worked as a homemaker, supporting her children with kindness and love. She will be remembered for her quick wit and sharp sense of humor, always able to make those around her laugh. She brought warmth and joy to all family gatherings and loved her grandchildren. She will also be remembered for her love of animals and enjoyed working at several retail pet stores in Virginia Beach, including several decades at Animal Jungle and several years at Jungle Aquatics, where she developed great friendships with her co-workers.
