On Wednesday morning May 24, 2023 Charles H. Bryan, loving father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 77.

Charles was born on December 23, 1945 in Camden, NJ, to Francis and Jeanette Bryan. He grew up in a loving family with 6 brothers and 5 sisters.

After finishing school, Charles chose to join the U.S. Navy and served proudly. In June of 1982 he married Wendy Brown. Together they had one son, Charles F Bryan.

After retiring from the U.S. Navy, Charles went on to work in one of the many shipyards here in the Tidewater area. Once he retired from the shipyard it was time to relax.

Most of his time after retiring he enjoyed with his son and his family going to his favorite restaurant; Nick’s. He loved being around people.

Charles was preceded in death by his father Francis, mother Jeanette, 2 brothers; Francis Jr. and John, and sister Carolyn Bryan. He is survived by 4 brothers Joe (Linda), James, Carl and Patrick, 4 sisters; Jeanette (Jerry), Mary (Jerry), Patrice (Charles) and Roseanne (Greg), his son Charles F. (Tammyjo), grandkids; Miley, Katherine, Charlotte, Scarlett, Remington and Wesson. Also left to cherish his memory are special friends Roger and Bonnie Dumont, Jerry Mosher, Wendy Bryan and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

The family will have a memorial service at a later time. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Heart Foundation or the Cancer Society.
