Obituary For Christy Van Bevers

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Christy Dawn Van Bevers passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2024. She was only 53 years young.

Christy was born to Sharon Hans and Clell Van Bevers in Vancouver, Washington on January 20, 1971. Though legally blind from a young age, Christy had a long and successful career in the boating industry. Before her untimely passing, she had been the Sales Manager for Lynnhaven Marine in Virginia Beach for 28 years.

As her family and friends can attest, Christy had a heart of gold. She went above and beyond to help others and had a deep love for animals, especially Border Collies. Christy always greeted you with a smile, had a great sense of humor, and loved the Dallas Cowboys. She was looking forward to an early retirement in the coming months to enjoy a life she could still see. Christy and her ever joyous spirit, determination to live her best life no matter her circumstances, and compassion for others will be embedded in our hearts and minds forever.

Christy is preceded in death by her parents Sharon Hans and Clell Van Bevers, and her beloved dogs Zoe and Jasper. She leaves behind her brother John (Erin) Van Bevers, brother Shawn (Lisa) Frensley, and sister Shannon Dunlap.

In lieu of flowers, in memory of Christy, please consider making a donation in Christy's name to the Hope For Life Rescue in Virginia Beach, or a local animal shelter of your choosing.

Christy always made sure everyone had what they needed, and if she couldn't make it happen, she would find a way for you to make it happen yourself. She will be missed by many, and I am thankful for having known her these last couple of years.
