Obituary For Cynthia Marie Bahen

We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. – 2 Corinthians 5:8- Cynthia Marie (Price) Bahen went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 8, 2016, following a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. She was 56. Cyndy was born October 22, 1959 in Richmond, VA to Henry and Beatrice Price. She was the younger of two children. Cyndy was a 1977 graduate of Hinsdale South High School in Darien, IL. She attended Great Bridge Baptist Church, where she was a member of the CIA Sunday School Class. Cyndy had a long career as a Medical Assistant, most recently working for Dr. Samuel Selden. Left to cherish her memories in their hearts are her husband of 31 years, Dan Bahen; a daughter, Sara Bea Armstrong and husband Jason; a son, Joseph Henry Bahen; parents Henry and Bea Price; her brother Dwain Price and wife Penny; numerous nieces and nephews; her best friend Nancy; and her special dog, Addie. The family would like to note with greatest appreciation the care and support provided by: Dr. Richard Bedlack and the staff at the Duke ALS Clinic; Case Manager Kirsten Borte, RN, BSN and the team at Hospice & Palliative Care of Tidewater; the ALS Association – DC/MD/VA Chapter and staff; and Brad Foster, owner of Atlantic Homecare Services, who provided CNAs to care for Cyndy. All are warmly invited to a "Celebration of Life Service" to be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Great Bridge Baptist Church, 640 S. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23322. Dr. Will Langford will officiate. The family will receive friends beforehand at 1:00 PM. There will be a reception following the service for anyone who would like to join the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association – DC/MD/VA Chapter, http://webdc.alsa.org/site/PageNavigator/DC_7_giftsintribute.html, or to the building fund of Great Bridge Baptist Church, 640 S.
