Obituary For David James Tolbert
David James Tolbert, 51 born on October 5th, 1973 in Hampton, Virginia passed away with family by his side on October 22nd, 2024. David was born in Hampton, Va and raised in Currituck, NC. He was born to Deborah Dorsey and Melvin Lewis Jr who have both preceded him in death.
He attended Currituck County Schools and spent a lot of time at the Outer Banks, NC growing up. David was a free spirit and loved just about everyone. He had the biggest heart so full of love for everyone. He was a contractor building houses in the Outer Banks for many years.
David leaves behind several close family members including Brooke and Madeline Kressley (daughters), Wylie Scott Tolbert III (brother), Heidi Lewis, Macey Lewis, Myra Lewis, and Sherry Miller (sisters). David had several additional family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He will be cremated and Private services will be held by the family to honor and remember David.

Dave has always been a sweetheart and one of the nicest guys I've had the pleasure of knowing since we were teenagers. He had the kindest heart, was always full of smiles, laughs and a terrific friend to all! I will cherish the memories I have of him.
