Devery A. Banks, 65, of Williamsburg passed away March 27, 2025. Affectionately known as “Sister Devery”, she was born in Norfolk, VA on July 28, 1959, to the late Willie Mae Banks and Theodore William (Bill) Banks.

Devery attended Norfolk Public Schools as a child. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Beth Shalom and worked for Chesapeake Public Schools as a food worker. Devery loved the Lord and reading her Bible. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Devery loved her westerns, murder mysteries, She Wrote, and speaking to the prayer warriors at CBN.

Devery will be truly missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Theodore Banks, and her sister, Jane K. Riddick (Augustus).

Devery leaves to cherish wonderful memories to her children, Rashetta Banks, Charmaine Banks, and Yvette Banks. She also leaves her grandchildren, Demarje Banks, Malachi Banks, Cameron Banks, and Zoey Weaver.
