Dianne P. Kemp, 81, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away in her home with her husband, children, and grandson by her side on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

Born on June 11, 1945, in Norfolk, Virginia, Dianne was the daughter of the late Earl Tarpley Patterson and Ruby Love Woolard. She was pre-deceased by her son, Larry Todd Miller, and her brother, William Earl Patterson.

Dianne shared 59 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted and loving husband, Terry Rogers Kemp, whom she had known and loved for 69 years.

She leaves behind her son, Terry Ray Kemp; her daughter, Jeannie Dianne Woods; her brother, Troy Glenn Patterson; her granddaughters, Patricia and Melissa Pegram; her grandson, Zachary Ellis; her great-granddaughters, Ainsley and Esme; her sisters-in-law, Debbie Duke, Janice Sorrell, and Sandy Patterson; and her goddaughter, Nicole Shrieves. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins residing in Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, Minnesota, and Mississippi.

Dianne was also reunited in spirit with her beloved animal companions, Chrissy, Tinkerbell, Cuddles, and Jewels, as well as her cherished adopted African Grey parrot, Grendel, who all crossed the Rainbow Bridge before her. They each held a special place in her heart and brought her love, joy, and companionship throughout her life.

Throughout her life, Dianne dedicated her professional years to the healthcare industry, serving as a Supervisor of the ER Intake Staff at Sentara Virginia Beach General. Her career was one centered around an important field of service, contributing to the care and well-being of others. Her passing marks the close of 81 years of life filled with adventurous travel experiences with her husband, children and grandchildren, lifelong friendships, her love of birds, dogs, plants/flowers, and memories that remain part of her family’s story.

May Dianne be remembered with love and may the cherished memories of her bring comfort and peace to all who mourn her passing.

Dianne’s Celebration of Life will be at the family residence in Virginia Beach, Virginia on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
