Obituary For Donald "Donny" Hugh Murden, Jr.

Virginia Beach - Donald "Donny" Hugh Murden, Jr., born on April 26, 1962, in Norfolk, VA, passed away in Virginia Beach, VA, on January 3, 2026, at the age of 63.

Donny dedicated many of his early years to his work in the shipyards while later in life working in construction. Baseball was the sport he loved to play but more than likely you could catch him watching the Redskins and Miami Dolphins games on Sundays. He loved coaching his two sons' baseball team when they were younger at Plaza Little League. When not playing baseball with the boys, you could almost bet 1000 that you would find him at the bowling alley for the weekend working to get that perfect score of 300.

Donny is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Donald Hugh Murden, Sr. and Geraldine Elizabeth (Scott) (Murden) Yow. He is survived by his daughter, Brandice Holroyd and her husband Dustin Holroyd; his two sons Donald Hugh Murden III (Courtney Murden) and Brian Glenn Murden (Monica Murden); his uncle and sister along with several nieces and nephews.

He also leaves behind nine beautiful grandchildren: Brodey, Hudson, Skylar, Hunter, Layla, Sammy, Maddie, Natalie, and Alex.

No services are planned at this time. Simply Cremation is assisting his family during this difficult period. Those who wish to share memories or express condolences are invited to do so at SimplyCremationOnline.com.
