Obituary For Donald Ray Hewett

Virginia Beach- Don was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina on April 1, 1946 and passed away at home in Sandbridge on July 4, 2024.

After graduating from Princess Anne High School in 1964, Don attended Chowan College then Old Dominion College where he was a member of Theta Xi fraternity. Don was a lifelong salesman. He was owner/operator of Argo of Tidewater in Pungo. After closing Argo of Tidewater, Don’s retirement job was a morning cashier at the Sandbridge Seaside Market.

Don leaves behind his wife Diane, daughter Meredith Foy (Pete), son Todd Hewett, granddaughter Morgan Foy, brother Jim Hewett and his family, sister Joy Thompson and her family, and numerous other family members and friends in Virginia, North Carolina, and California. Don was predeceased by his beloved dog, Kobe, Chesapeake Bay retriever.

Please join us Sept 28, 2024 from 1-3 PM at the Baja restaurant, 3701 Sandpiper Rd in Sandbridge, Virginia Beach, VA for a Celebration of Life; dress is beach casual. In Don’s memory donations can be made to an animal rescue of your choice.
