Virginia Beach, VA - Doris Rebecca (Bell) Rector, born November 24, 1950, in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 75.

Doris was a devoted and caring Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for Home Health, where she dedicated her life to providing comfort and support to those in need. Her compassion and commitment touched the lives of many throughout her career.

In her spare time, Doris enjoyed listening to Christian music.

She pursued her education with two years of college, where she further developed her skills and knowledge that would become the foundation for her nurturing profession.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Thomas and Mae (Hollifield) Bell, her sister, Peggy Cox, and brother, Joey Bell. She is survived by her loving daughters, Michelle Hartnett, her husband Jason, and Laura Putman, three grandsons, Lance, Ladan and Kade and 3 great grandsons, Leo, Luke and Laif, her sister, Sarah Bell, in Maryland, two brothers, Eddie Bell and Melvin Bell in Spruce Pine North Carolina, along with numerous other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
