I knew Ella via playing bluegrass music with Gary. Not knowing anything of Ella and Gary's family, I'd just like to say she was one of the move gracious ladies I've ever known despite her being wheelchair bound. I sincerely hope she and Gary are together at last.

Ella and I were colleagues at the U.S. Coast Guard Finance Center. She was always positive and upbeat and a pleasure to work with. May her memory be a blessing.

I worked with Ella at the Finance Center! I admired so much! She got in her car every day and got herself in and out of the car! That was truly amazing to me. Then she worked very hard every at work and helped and trained so many people She was patient, kind and asked for no special treatment. I always admired that she cooked and made quilts. I could tell that Gary was the love of her life! May God bless and comfort her family! She will be truly missed!

    To Ms. Ella's family,
I am so sorry for your loss!!
The world has lost such an amazing woman. I was one of her Home Health care providers. Her energy and her stamina were contagious. I was glad I had my running shoes on while she wheeled around her home.
She was so proud of her her sewing and crafts, especially her quilts. She put so much love into each and every one. My sister is a quilter and Ella allowed me to take some pictures of her more recent quilts. Boy, was my sister impressed! Just from a cell phone picture my sister could see the quality of stitch, the creativity of design. I believe she said something like "truly amazing. I hope I will be able to reach that level!"

May all your found memories be of comfort to you at this challenging time.

To Kenny, Karen and family, we are so sorry for your great loss. Ella was such a special person in my life. I barely remember a time in my life without her in it, as we enjoyed so many wonderful visits and vacations together in Duck NC over the past 50+ years. Our summer vacations together - the Colehamers and Lytton-Whites - created many of the best memories of my childhood. So many fun memories of beach time, card games, bluegrass music, bonfires, and laughs. And over the years since then, I was lucky enough to see Ella (and your Dad Gary) down in Duck when visiting with my parents. I treasure all of those memories with them. Ella was a person I always loved and admired - so strong, smart, witty, creative, independent, kind, and loving. I know she will always be missed by so many. God bless all of her family and friends.
