Obituary For Ella Viola "Vi" Williamson
Ella Viola Williamson (Vi)
September 12, 1935 – September 17, 2025
Ella Viola Williamson, lovingly known as Vi, passed away peacefully at the age of 90, on September 17, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. A cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Vi leaves behind a legacy of grace, resilience, and unwavering love.
Born in East Point, Georgia, on September 12, 1935, Vi was baptized at The First Baptist Church of East Point. She attended Russell High School and later graduated from Georgia State University. She married Floyd Williamson, and together they embraced a life of adventure, traveling and living around the world during Floyd’s distinguished military service.
Her appreciation for family, faith and community extended into her professional life, where she served with dedication as a Social Worker for Child and Family Services in Georgia. Her work was marked by compassion and a steadfast commitment to bettering the lives of countless individuals and families. Throughout her life, she was known for her quiet strength and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Her devotion to family, love of gardening and affection for animals were hallmarks of her gentle spirit. Vi found joy in life’s simple pleasures: a good book, the company of dogs, birdwatching and anything related to horses.
Vi’s love lives on through her family…her son, Ken Williamson, and his wife, Katy; her daughter, Deborah Boone, and her husband, Danny; and their children, Jaren Boone (Barbie), Justin Boone, and Jenna Hardin (Shawn). She also leaves behind four beautiful great-granddaughters—Leiya Boone, Ryan Scott, Paige Scott, and her namesake, Ella Boone—who will carry forward her spirit and cherish the lessons she imparted.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost seventy years, Floyd Williamson, and her beloved sister, Floretta Roumillat.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Georgia National Cemetery, reunited in eternal peace.
