Obituary For Erich Scott Layton
Portsmouth, VA - Erich Scott Layton, born on November 1, 1982, in Okinawa, Japan, passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 42 in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Erich dedicated his professional life as a Purchasing Agent in Stone Fabrication for Trindco, where he was respected and valued by his colleagues and peers.
Erich is survived by his children Justus, Caleb, and Delilah, his father Jim and stepmother Julie, mother Brenda and her husband Mike, sister Jessica and her husband Kekaula, brothers Jimmy and David, nieces, nephews and many other family members.
He was an accomplished bass player and taught himself multiple musical instruments. He loved history and debating any topic. His proudest achievements above all are his children.
Erich will be missed by all those who loved him.

I worked with Erich almost everyday as Trindco purchases stone from us. He was such a kind soul who was easy to talk to. We would often chat on the phone for 30-40 mins about life, traveling and more than anything his kids who he was so immensely proud of! He will be dearly missed by me and so many others.
