Estelle “Stella” Gwendolyn Watson, 94,died peacefully at her home in Virginia Beach, Virginia on December 5 2024. She was surrounded by her family and beloved dog Stanley.

Stella was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 12, 1930. GO EAGLES! She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John E. Watson and her daughter Sharon L. Fischer. Stella was a devout Catholic and active member of Church of the Holy Family. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Schofield (Dan) and her grandson Travis J. Wilson (Cori).

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Church of the Holy Family 1279 N. Great Neck Road., on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception in the Church Social Hall. The Reverend Father Rene R. Castillo will officiate.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Sentara Virginia Beach General especially the ER and ICU. Also, the wonderful care shown to Stella by Sentara Hospice especially Beth and Vanessa. We would like to also thank Stella’s friends for being there for her especially Cass Biermann, Sharon Cummings and Emily Kerr. And lastly to the friends she made at BJ’s Wholesale club while she worked there. She loved working with you all and remaining friends with many of you even after she retired. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA where she adopted her beloved rescue Stanley.
