Everett Raymond Hess, Jr., 70, of Kill Devil Hills, NC, passed suddenly on April 2, 2017.

Mr. Hess was born in New York to the late Everett R. Hess Sr. and Eileen Sustchek (Alvin) Waffle. He was also predeceased by his grandparents, William and Eva Sustchek; and granddaughter, Felisa Leigh Joyner.

Mr. Hess retired as owner of American Structures, Inc. He enjoyed travel, riding on the beaches of NC, fishing and boating. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 4506, and treasurer of the Eagle Riders Motorcycle Club. He was a Carolina Hurricanes Hockey fan. Everett had a passion for riding his Harley. His beloved dogs Harley and Gizmo will miss him.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Anita Martin Hess; sister, Janice (Mike) Christman; step children, Kimberly (Michael) Camposano, Daphne (Jerald) Casper, William R (Shirley) Davis and Leanne (Clifford) Thomas; seven grandchildren, Jenna (Josh), Coss, Jillian (Brett), Christopher, Robbie, Cole, and Andrew; four great grandchildern, Felisa , Cody, William and Margaret Jillian; and two nieces, Wendy (Matthew) Harrington, and Lisa (Justin) Poissant.

A private memorial service is being planned.
