Obituary For Florence "Flo" Vaccaro

Our loving mum, Florence “Flo” Mary Teresa Vaccaro, Granny and OG (Other Granny), 82, of Virginia Beach passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2025, surrounded by her family and close friends.

Flo, born on September 26th, 1942, to Charles and Nora Loftus in Tipperary, Ireland, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. At age 4, Flo moved to Port Glasgow, Scotland with her parents and little sister, Vera. Over the next few years, she was blessed with three more sisters and two brothers (Maureen, Nonie, Charles, Denise and Johnny).

In 1961 she met Joe (Vic) Vaccaro, the “love of her life”, and the two were inseparable from that point on. Flo and Vic were married on May 31, 1962, and were together until July 18th, 1998, when Vic passed away. They enjoyed 36 years of marriage together. They have five children; Maureen, Paul, John, Anthony and Laura; nine grandchildren, and one great granddaughter (Raven Mae).

Flo was a fiercely dedicated mum to all her children and family always came first. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment to her loved ones were the hallmarks of her life. She was the care giver, nurturer, chauffer, cook, and basically the “mom” of all trades.

Flo was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph (Vic) C. Vaccaro, her parents Nora and Charles Loftus, and younger sister Vera Tedeschi.

At this time, there are no services planned but arrangements will be made at a later date to honor Flo’s memory.

Flo (Mom, Granny and OG) will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of love and devotion to her family will be treasured forever.

Your Hug Meant the World
Nobody else held me so tight
Or made me feel so right
No one's eyes shined so bright with love
As my mom, who is now high above.

I called her my second mom and my girls knew her as Granny Vaccaro. This beautiful lady had love in her heart to share and a great kindness for all. Thank you for all the love and support you blessed my girls and I with. You will be sorely missed. I love you!
