Obituary For Fred Thomas Woodard Jr.
Newport News, VA - Fred Thomas Woodard Jr., a devoted husband, father and son, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, in Newport News, Virginia, the city of his birth. Born on June 21, 1963, Fred had just celebrated his 63rd birthday before leaving this world.
Fred lived with the challenges of being disabled, facing them with quiet strength and dignity.
Preceded in death by his parents, Fred T. Woodard Sr. and Patricia Woodard, Fred leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his devoted wife, Dedra M. Woodard, his daughter, Aisia Woodard, grandchildren, Jacier and Braylan, step children, Brandon Ferguson and Brittany Young, his brother, Ricardo Woodard and numerous other family members and friends who were touched by his life.
He loved fish and had a large aquarium at home. He also loved football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
In keeping with his family's wishes, no services are planned at this time. Simply Cremation is assisting with the arrangements. Friends and loved ones are invited to share memories and express their condolences online at SimplyCremationOnline.com.

My deepest condolences to the Woodard family. Fred was an amazing man who touched the lives of so many people. I'm truly going to miss him calling every couple of months just to check on me. Those conversations meant more than he probably ever knew. He will be deeply missed. May God comfort your family during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Fred.

My prayers are with the Woodard's family in your time of grief. I met Fred over 20 plus years ago at the Ford dealership in Newport News. He was always cordial and down to earth.
