Obituary For George Steven Sadowski

Virginia Beach - George Steven Sadowski, born on August 15, 1956, and went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2025, at the age of 68. He was loved by so many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

George dedicated most of his professional life as a Maintenance Superintendent until his retirement, a testament to his hard work and commitment. Outside of work, he was a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and found great joy in watching NASCAR races.

A devoted member of Discovery Church, George lived a life enriched by faith and community. He is now reunited with his beloved mother, Joan, and brother, Greg, both of whom preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his ex-wife and mother of his children, Lani Keasey, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage, and their five children: son George Jr., and wife Lori; daughter Chrissy; daughter Jamie and husband Joshua; son Michael and wife Christine; and son Peter. His eight grandchildren—Alana, Colby, Jordyn, Tyler, Josephine, Julianna, Alessandra, and Ina—were the light of his life.

Also surviving are his longtime girlfriend, Tami, and his constant companion, his cat Pepsi. His father Jim, numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, and countless friends will carry his memory forward.

George was a man of contrasts—grumpy and set in his ways, yet possessing a heart of gold. He was always willing to help anyone in need, often offering the shirt off his back to a stranger. His lasting legacy is one of strong family values, reflected daily in the lives of his children and grandchildren.

Services for George will be held Wednesday July 16 at Discovery Church, 4881 Euclid Road Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Visitation will be at 11 am with a Celebration of Life following from 12-1. There will be no reception. Pastor Jay McCoy will be officiating.

Simply Cremation is assisting his family during this difficult time. Please share memories and express condolences at SimplyCremationOnline.com.

As we remember George, let us celebrate a life well-lived and a spirit that touched the hearts of many.

Big George, or Pops as I called him, took me in when I was a young punk living on the streets. Pops not only gave me shelter, food and a bed nut also gave me a job & taught me a trade. When I got my own apartment he drove over 30 minutes out of his way every morning & evening to pick me up for work and drop me off afterwards as I had no car. We had great conversations on those rides. His grumpy old man routine was often just for show as Pops was truly just a grizzly old dude with a huge heart & loved every; personally for myself more than I expected or likely deserved. Rest well Pops; you earned it. Love, John ❤️🙏

My brother Stanley just told me about the passing of George I'm so sorry to hear that. We often spoke of him and Lani throughout the years, he is one that won't be forgotten. When I think of them, I just remember all he ever did was smile and laugh! He was so devoted to his children and family. He was a sweet soul My deepest condolences to his family 🙏🙏 May God comfort you by wrapping his loving arms around each one of you. RIP George Kay Williams

My Uncle Geroge was one of a kind. He was always there for his family. He was there when my son was born which meant the world to me, called me when i was in the hospital to check how I was doing, and how Conner was. He was there for his brother my dad Greg when he wasn't doing good and even when he was. There is so much positive things I can say. I miss your phone calls and our times together. Forever in my heart. Best uncle ever.

George was the absolute best! I have many fond memories of George, Lani, and Peter. George is now chatting it up with dad in Heaven. It was a blessing to be able to see George last year when I was in town and his daughter and grandchildren. He definitely left a legacy! - Angel Chick (old neighbor on Maverick Street)

George I have a lot of memories of us as kids. You used to get me to touch a spark plug from a lawnmower you were working on, and I would get shocked every time. And I would fall for it every time. You were a good brother. You will be missed. Love you forever brother. You are with mom and Greg now. Until we meet again. ❤️💔
