Obituary For Gregory Scott Davis Sr.

Gregory Scott Davis Sr., 63, of Virginia Beach, VA passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2025, after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Born on October 3, 1961, to Sandra and Robert Davis, Sr., he was a lifetime resident of Virginia Beach and grew up in Aragona Village. Scott and his family were members of Haygood Baptist Church and along with his siblings attended Bayside Jr. and Bayside High School.

Scott loved to work in his family’s business, Davis Masonry, Inc. alongside his father, brothers, sister, sons and nephews; most recently with his brother, Robbie and Lighthouse Masonry. Over the many years, Scott was a member of or involved in many organizations and charities, hosting events through his leadership, planning and participating with his children’s school’s PTA and scouting, and The Pink Ride serving as President for several years.

Scott enjoyed spending weekends on the Eastern Shore camping, with his lovely bride and many friends. Scott loved taking a ride on his motorcycle and was a lifetime member of Hogan’s Goats. He was always ready to drop everything and come help a friend in need.

Scott was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Sandra and Robert Davis, Sr., his younger brother and nephew, Stephen Warren Davis, Sr., Stephen Warren Davis Jr., and grandson Robert Simon Davis.

Scott was most proud of his family. He leaves behind to carry on his memory, his loving wife, Patricia Wiggs Davis, his children; Gregory Scott Davis, Jr. (Becky) and their children Katelynn, Scottie, Sean, and Daniel; Jonathan Davis and his sons, Josh, Aiden, and Mason; Rachel Slifer (Nathan) and their daughters Blake and Laura; Jacqueline Dugan (Justin) and their son Jameson; and Cody Taran (Jason) and their children Jagger, Hayden, and Avery. Scott’s sister, Margie Davis Dickson and his older brother Robert Davis, Jr. (Dana) and his sister-in-law, Linda Davis. He also leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held this Saturday, June 14th, with visitation at 11am followed by a 12pm service at Calvary Virginia Beach 4832 Haygood Road Virginia Beach, VA 23455. In lieu of flowers consider donating to St. Jude or The Pink Ride. A very special thank you to the lovely care team and staff at 2 South Oncology SVBGH.
