My brother had many character flaws but I'll share a few memories that I will try to remember him by. I was hospitalized after Marine Corps boot camp and Dra drove down and picked me up after I was released so I could visit my parents before heading to California. I did back to back tours of duty in Vietnam and Dra picked me up at the Norfolk airport and when my leave was over drove me back when I started my second tour in Vietnam. I was medivaced out of Vietnam in April 1969 and arrived Portsmouth Naval Hospital several weeks later. I was classified as "walking wounded" but was told I wasn't allowed to go home. Dra arrived at the hospital and doing what he did best arranged for me to go home and see Mom and Dad my first night back in the "world". I hope you find peace brother.

Dra and I have been friends since grade school. He was a great drummer, and we enjoyed music. I later had a band and Dra would set in with us. One of the nicest guys I have ever met.

I met Guy when he came to work in IT at the Virginia Department of Agriculture (VDACS). He was a great gentleman, very good at his job and, as all of you know, an avid golfer. He and I and several other fellows here at VDACS starting playing golf. We played in the VDACS golf tournament and many other times. After he left VDACS and went back to VA Beach, we still played golf a number of times each year, including 2011. The last time we played golf was just a few days before he became ill. We talked several times after that. He told me about the illness and the treatment and then I couldn't contact him. Today I learned of his passing and I am devastated.
To all of you, family and friends, who knew and loved him, I send you my condolences. To his children and to Kay, I want you to know that he told wonderful stories about you and loved you all very much.
I will miss him greatly.

Dra and I grew up in Franklin VA together. He was a fine athlete and true gentleman. Even though it has been many years since we have talked, I recall him with fond memories.

My husband and I too, became friends with Guy many years ago while he worked for VDACS. My husband and I would have him over for dinner and then we would all go to my son's baseball games. He in turn, had taken us out to dinner and one time, took us to a co-worker's party, so my husband and I could both have drinks if we wanted to and not have to worry about how we were going to get home.
I cannot say enough good things about Guy. He valued his family, was proud of them and loved them all very much. I heard how special Kay was to him also.
I had been meaning to get in touch with Guy for awhile and this is a perfect example of why people should not put things off. I will remember Guy with fond memories forever. The world was a better place because he was in it.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
