Obituary For Harry "Pete" Byrd Jones, Jr.

Portsmouth- I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith …. On Sunday, May 16th, Harry Byrd “Pete” Jones, Jr. 69 sadly passed away. He will be greeted by his loving parents, Harry & Mary Jones, his brother, Matthew and his nephew, Mason. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters; Rose Mary Gates (Sam), Jennifer Jones, Cindy Moore (John), Darlene Bowles; daughters; Lisa Michelle Puglisi, Melissa Davis (Gerald) and Melanie Jones (Brian); 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren, his sister-in-law Kim Sherbert, Uncle Claude Pribble & his companion, Kathy Johnson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who love him dearly. The family would like to thank the most wonderful nurses, doctors and staff at Maryview Hospital 3North floor for the love and kindness that was shown to Pete. There are not enough words to express how very much Pete is loved and will be missed. Services are private.

    I met Pete the summer of 1969 , I was walking home from a teen dance that I had met him at , he was riding in the back of a pickup truck, he jumped out of the truck and walked me home, he was a lot of fun and we spent everyday together, we got married in November 1969 , our daughter Lisa Michelle was born April 20, 1971 .... we were so young and crazy, I never forgot you Pete , Rest In Peace your fight is over, I pray for peace to all his family and friends, we will all see him again......🙏
