Today, we would have celebrated my Aunt's 75th birthday . . . Aunt Rita has her favorite story she told me so often about us. When I was just a young toddler, she lived with my parents, while my Uncle Jeff was in Army boot camp. She would take me outside in our backyard, when my mom was working, and she would teach me how to make Southern mud pies. She said that I would get very dirty, which was, of course, the best part, according to her. Then, she would hurry me into the house for a bath, before my mom got home. It was our little secret. Aunt Rita was the most caring person I ever knew. Her love for her family was very strong, unconditional, forthcoming, attentive, kind and unwavering. Nothing was more important to her than family. She was all in. Today, I celebrate one of the most important women in my life, and very proud to call my aunt! Aunt Rita, you mean the world to me. I love and miss you!! I can hardly wait to worship with you in paradise!
