Norfolk - VA - Jackie Lynn (Benson) Carson, born on September 21, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away peacefully at home on March 31, 2026, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 83. She lived a life marked by dedication and service, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Jackie was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, where she served her country with distinction. Following her military service, she continued to contribute to her community through her work in retail sales, where she was known for her kindness and commitment to customer care.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Harley and Mildred (Westerman) Benson, and her daughter Cindy L. Perry. Jackie graduated from high school before serving in the Navy, embodying the spirit of service that defined her life's work.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Calvin R. Carson, Jr., with whom she shared 63 years of love and companionship. Jackie also leaves behind her devoted son, Charles R. Carson, his wife Karen Carson, her grand-children Brandon Perry, Robin Perry (Brian Gill), Emily Carson Stark (Jason), Calvin J. Carson (Allie) and numerous great-grandchildren, as well as other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Jackie's cremated remains will be interred at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran’s Cemetery in Suffolk, VA, at a later date, ensuring she rests among fellow veterans. Simply Cremation is assisting her family during this difficult time.
