May 28, 1958 – July 13, 2025

James Jeffrey Ashe, known lovingly as Jeff, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 67. Born on May 28, 1958, in Norfolk, Virginia, Jeff spent his life dedicated to his work and those he loved most.

He was a highly skilled ceiling mechanic, Jeff built a respected career in the construction industry. He was known for his strong work ethic, commitment to his craft, and the pride he took in a job well done. Beyond his profession, Jeff will be remembered for his quiet strength, his goofy sense of humor, and the love he held for his family.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Ashe, and his brother, Bobby Halsey. He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his mother, Vivian (Gay) Ashe; his step-mother Peggy Ashe, his loving companion of 33 years, Becky Roberts; his sister, Donna Metcalfe (Steve); his children, Samantha Wright and Corey Ashe Sr. (Jenna); and his three grandchildren, Corey James Ashe Jr., Cooper Wright, and Alexandria Wright.

The family will celebrate Jeff’s life with a small, private family gathering at a later date.

    I don't know that I even have to words to explain the loss I feel in my heart. I never imagined we would be without you so quickly and tragically. I love you, I miss your goofy laugh and your silly Dad jokes. I will hold the memory of you and photos we have dear to my heart and share them and stories of you with your grandbabies. You were supposed to retire and live the rest of your life actually trying to relax and I am so sorry you didn't get the chance to do that. You worked so hard. I see that in your son, my brother every day. I love you so much Daddy. Until we meet again.

    Dad i will never stop thinking about you. I already thought of you almost everyday as it was. It is going to be hard without you around. Without you, i dont know how, or what, i would have become. I have worked with you soo much in the past 15 years of my career that i followed you through. Started because of you. Even though you warned me not to.. I will forever miss you and love you pops!
