Obituary For James "Jim" Bryan Mansberger

Virginia Beach - James Bryan Mansberger, born on January 16, 1958, in Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 67. A man of many talents and passions, he leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and a zest for life.

James, known for his entrepreneurial spirit, was the founder and sole owner of Property Associates, which he established in 1987. Over nearly three decades, he built a successful career as a landlord, builder, and realtor. In 2005, he became a Licensed Class A Contractor and Home-builder, as well as a Licensed Realtor, further cementing his expertise and reputation in the industry. In addition to his real estate ventures, James found joy in teaching others as a Kiteboard Instructor at KHK Kites since 2017, sharing his love for kiteboarding with all who were eager to learn.

He was a man of intellect, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, earned in 1983, and a Master of Science in Engineering Management, completed in 1987. His pursuit of knowledge led him to complete all PhD coursework in Engineering Management with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence by 1992, showcasing his passion for innovation and technology.

James had a deep appreciation for the beach, particularly the Outer Banks, and enjoyed spending his free time engaged in sports, music, and the exhilarating sport of kiteboarding. These interests reflected his adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Mountain, his mother, Alexandra Mansberger, his brothers, Floyd Mountain and Thomas Mountain. He is survived by his sisters, Susan DeLama, Emily Bellamy, Joyce Daniels, Carol Santos, and Patti Murray, brothers, Leslie Mountain and Robert Mountain, along with other cherished family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
