Obituary For James Joseph Lippincott

James Joseph Lippincott, known to many simply as Jay, passed away on February 26, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was 60 years old.

Jay was born on October 27, 1965, in Neptune, New Jersey to parents Diane Adele and William Milton Lippincott.

He is survived by his brothers, John Lippincott and Chris Lippincott, with whom he shared a lifelong bond that remained strong through the years and distance, and by his close family in Virginia Beach: Victoria and James Wivell and their daughter, Elizabeth Snead, with whom he shared their home for many years. Jay shared a special bond with Victoria, his closest friend, and with Elizabeth, who lovingly knew him as “Uncle Jay” and held a very special place in his heart.

Jay worked for Ford Motor Company and later for Huntington Ingalls Shipbuilding. He took pride in his work and enjoyed staying busy with his many interests. He had a deep appreciation for history, especially visiting World War II museums, and enjoyed working on and restoring classic cars, including his beloved 1969 Mustang. He also loved fishing and often enjoyed simply taking a drive with no particular destination in mind.

Jay had a kind and gentle presence that drew people and animals to him. He was dearly loved by the family dogs, Nova, Luna, and Leo, who were always happiest when they were near him.

Jay will be remembered for his quiet kindness, loyal friendship, and the steady presence he brought to the lives of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A private memorial service celebrating Jay’s life will be held in Virginia Beach, where family and close friends will gather to remember and honor him. Those wishing to attend may contact the family for details.

Friends and loved ones are welcome to share memories of Jay and messages of condolence at SimplyCremationOnline.com.
