Obituary For James M. Swavely
Suddenly, on June 8, 2014, James Michael (Jim) Swavely, passed away at his home in Chesapeake, Va. Jim was a kindhearted, warm, generous soul whose personal integrity and loving heart made him a cherished relative and friend to many. He loved playing poker, reading mysteries, listening to all sorts of music, and being with loved ones. He leaves behind his fiancée and soul partner Andrée Rose Catalfamo, his devoted sister Patricia Marcus and her husband James Marcus, his loving niece Megan Perry, his cherished mother-in law and brother-in-law-to-be, Andrée C. Catalfamo and Dominic M. Catalfamo, and many beloved friends in Chesapeake VA, the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and elsewhere. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 1:30pm at Unity Renaissance Church, 1120 Eden Way North, Chesapeake VA 23320. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either Unity Renaissance Church or to Beach Hollow Mental Health, 3143 Magic Hollow Road, Virginia Beach VA 23453.

I only met Jim a few times, but he was a kind, funny, gentle soul who was a wonderful partner to my friend. He will be sorely missed.

The last time I saw Jim was on a Sunday at church. He and his beloved Andree were so excited as they explained they were going to be getting a new place. They were so happy together. As they walked inside I yelled out to Andree that her new hairdo looked great. Jim hollered back to me "Thanks" LOL Such a sweet man. He will be missed...

I met Jim when I went to a U2 concert in Philadelphia with Andree. We all shared snacks and drinks in the parking lot before the show, and I got to know Jim as a kind and funny man. I'll never forget how happy he and Andree were together that day.
