Obituary For James Vernon Alexander, II

Hayes, VA — James Vernon Alexander II, lovingly known as Jimmy, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 4, 2025, in Newport News, Virginia, at the age of 37.

A lifelong native of Hampton Roads, Jimmy was a devoted son, loving father, caring brother, and cherished partner. He is survived by his father, James Alexander of Hubert, NC; his mother, Patricia Donoflio of Hayes, VA; his sons, James “JJ” Alexander of Hayes and Lucas “Luke” Alexander of Newport News; his daughter, Ellie Alexander of Newport News; and his sisters, Crystal Donoflio of Newport News and Tessa DeJesus of Portsmouth. He will also be deeply missed by his partner, Kristina “Krissy” Savoie of Yorktown.

Jimmy dedicated his many skills and talents to J R Morris Construction, Inc., where he worked as a Lead Carpenter and was on the path to becoming a Superintendent. His work ethic, precision, and leadership earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and friends. He was known for his organization, attention to detail, and analytical mindset—qualities that served him well both professionally and personally.

Beyond his career, Jimmy was fun-loving, energetic, and always ready for a new adventure. He found joy in spending quality time with his family, playing games and sports, fishing, working on cars, or simply relaxing at home. A true family man, he considered his children his greatest accomplishment.

In a final act of generosity, Jimmy chose to be an organ donor, a selfless decision that will help save the lives of others. This final gift speaks volumes about the compassionate and giving nature that defined his life.

A private Celebration of Life will be held Saturday May 17, 2025.

Jimmy worked in many of my properties and and was always tolerant of the property owner sticking his nose and the job that he was working on even though Jimmy had great skills. I found him to be a pleasure to work with and trusted his work.
