Obituary For Jeanette Carol Robinette Hulings

Jeanette Carol Robinette Hulings, born in Norfolk, Virginia, on August 26, 1946, peacefully went to heaven on January 18, 2025, in the arms of her daughters at her home of five years, Princess Anne Health and Rehabilitation in Virginia Beach.

The daughter of the late Howard and Agnes Robinette, Jeanette was a proud graduate of Princess Anne High School, Class of 1964, and Elon College, Class of 1968. After earning her degree, she taught English at Cox High School while living at the North End of Virginia Beach with her girlfriends. It was during this special time in her life that she met her husband, Marcus Hulings, at the Officers Club on Fort Story.

Jeanette cherished her family at Connect Church and deeply appreciated the love and care she received from the staff at Princess Anne Health and Rehabilitation.

Jeanette’s legacy of unconditional love, kindness, and grace will continue to shine through her family: her two daughters, Georgiana Robertson (and her husband, Matt) and Laura Hulings; her stepson, Marcus Hulings; her six grandchildren, Elijah Dozier, Alora Dozier, Israel Dozier, Grace Robertson, Mae Robertson, and Matthew Robertson; her brother, Cliff Robinette; and her beloved granddog, Dexter.

A celebration of Jeanette’s life will be held at Coastal Virginia Unitarian Universalists Church on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Jeanette’s gentle spirit, radiant kindness, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

I'm so sorry to hear of Jeanette's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time. She was such a sweet, loving, and stylish soul who I loved having the pleasure to meet at Princess Anne Health & Rehab. I miss her dearly and will never forget her beautiful smiling face.

I met Jeanette Hulings last year,on my second day at Princess Anne, when she was assigned to me. Her smile and words like,"Thank you sweetheart", for whatever little you do for her, gave me the reason to look forward for another day at work. Though gone physically, in our hearts you remain forever. Dance with the Angels Jeanette.

Jeanette was in the room next to my mom at Princess Anne and from the moment I met her I could see the love of Jesus in her. She always smiled when she was with me and we would listen and sing old hymns. I know I will see her again one day in heaven and we will praise the Lord together.
