Obituary For Jeanette Sessanna Watrous
Jeanette Sessanna Watrous, 98, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3rd 2016, after a long, fierce battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on January 19th, 1918 to Italian immigrants Antonio and Carmella Sasano.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers (Thomas, Joseph, Michael, Anthony Jr, and Alphonso) and three older sisters, Anna, Bridget, and Angeline. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Sydney Davis Watrous, and her second, Joseph Whichard (ret. U.S. ARMY). She is survived by her younger sister Rose, and her son Charles Sessanna Watrous and his wife, Cynthia. Her memories live on through her four grandchildren, Charles II, Taylor, Brittany, and Carter, and her great granddaughter, Krisalyn. She is survived by nieces, Judy and Rosemary, and nephew Thomas, as well as many other nieces and nephews, and great nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Born during WWI and raised through the great depression, she served as a "Rosie Riveter" during WWII and went on to a career in cosmetology. She loved gardening, preaching frugality, traveling, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Kindred Baypoint that cared for Jeanette over the last six years, as well as all those who kept Jeanette in their thoughts and prayers.
A memorial service will be held here in the spring with burial in Buffalo, N.Y.
