Obituary For Jeffrey Arnold Buckner

Jeffrey Arnold Buckner, 60, passed away at his home in Virginia Beach on Sunday, January 16, 2022 after an extended illness. Jeff was born on July 17, 1961 in Norfolk, VA where the family resided while his father served in the US Navy. He was a free spirit from a young age, even hitching rides from the west coast to the east coast, and pitching a tent wherever he landed himself. He lived in many states such as Florida and California before residing in Virginia for the last decade. Jeff was employed as a tile setter, which he greatly enjoyed. He was proud of his skills, frequently showing family and friends photos of his completed work. A favorite past-time of his was meeting friends at the local bar for drinks and laughs. Jeff had a passion for leather and woodworking and the people who knew him enjoyed seeing the pieces he crafted. He had a love for classic rock music and was known for his infectious smile and kind heart. Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Jean, and survived by his daughters, Renee and Tasha, granddaughter Kennedy, father, Jim, siblings, Jimmie, Debbie, and Sarah, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will have an intimate celebration of life on Saturday, February 12th. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Sentara Brock Cancer Center where Jeff received care from amazing nurses over the last few months.

Cheers to: -Every time you showed me how to use a hammer correctly. (My acrylics are always safe and my hits are always true). -Every time you opted to read the classics with me in the tree swing. (Just like you said, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest & The Catcher in the Rye changed my life every time I read them). -Every handstand Kennedy nails, she gets that from you. -Every peanut butter cookie you ever made (It's been 34 years and I'm still sitting on the counter by the fridge helping you make them - the bars just too high for any others). -Your art. The rings you made for us were every thing and I wish I still had them for Kennedy. -Your intellect. To this day, I still remember you teaching me how to properly measure then to he math to multiply to frame a house. You were so much smarter than your time. -And to JJ being by your side again to find every rock you toss in the river (I've never seen a better duo in all my life). She loved you and has been waiting on you like she always was. Rest easy daddy.
