Our beloved Mother, Jenete Scarborough, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia at the age of 90.

Born on April 23, 1935, in Great Falls, Montana, Jenete brought warmth, grace and quite strength into every space she entered. Over the course of her long life, she remained a steadfast source of love and encouragement to those who knew her.

Jenete married an Air Force man and spent 20 years moving across the country as a devoted military spouse, raising their three children. No matter where they lived, she made sure her family felt rooted, safe and loved. Her resilience, patience and sense of humor carried them through the challenges of military life.

After her husband’s retirement, they made their home in Virginia Beach, close to his family’s roots in Duck, North Carolina. There, Jenete continued to live a life centered on faith and family.

A woman of strong Christian faith, Jenete’s life reflected her beliefs in quiet but powerful ways. She was active in her church community and lived by example—offering compassion, grace, and wisdom to all who crossed her path. Her unwavering trust in God sustained her through life’s joys and challenges alike.

She is survived by her three children, Fred Scarborough, Catherine Scarborough and Ben Scarborough. She is also survived by three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on October 18, 2025 at Calvary Presbyterian Church located at 150 Kempsville Road, Norfolk Virginia at 11:00 am. Services will be followed with a gathering in the fellowship hall.
