Joachim “Jack” Glaubke, 85, of Norfolk, VA, passed away on August 23rd, 2023 with his daughter, Debbie, and beloved granddaughter, Brittany, by his side.

Jack was born in Schwichow, Germany and was the son of Willy K. And Meta A. Glaubke. He retired from Bright Construction and was a veteran of the Virginia National Guard. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an animal lover.

Jack was the last sibling of 11 children who grew up in a time of war. His family risked their lives fleeing Germany for a better life, leaving behind a war-torn homeland. His family had the fortune of finding a sponsor in Norfolk, Peter Meredith Sr., whose generosity granted them entry into the United States and job opportunities with Meredith Construction Inc. That helped foster their new life in a new country.

He was the widower of Agnes Glaubke and missed her very much. Finally at peace and free from his health issues, they are together again forever.

Survivors include 4 children, Debbie Martini, Eddie Renner, Wesley Glaubke, and Michael Glaubke; 6 grandchildren, Brittany McBride, Jeff Glaubke, Ashlea Glaubke, Jeremy Renner, Jason Glaubke, Leanna Glaubke. He has 6 great grandchildren.
