Joann Fern (Helmer) Grainger passed away December 20, 2020 at 10:50 am at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital of natural causes. Born January 23, 1940, in Fond Du Lac Wi.. Joann was blessed with 4 sons. Curtis (Rose) Grainger, Moyock NC, Rodney (Darlene) Grainger, Virginia Beach VA, Alan (Sherry) Grainger of Fond du Lac WI and Christopher (Aysha) Grainger of St Petersburg FL. Step sons, David Grainger, Bruce Grainger, Richard Grainger, and William Grainger from WI. Joann lost the love of her life David L Grainger on Dec. 8, 2008 and is survived by her sister Charlotte Zielieke of Campbellsport Wi., brothers Norman Helmer from Fond Du Lac Wi. Benjamin Helmer from Oshkosh WI, sister in law Carol Helmer of Oshkosh WI, and Brother in law Allen Clem of Hyattsville Md. Joann is survived by her grandchildren; Candace Grainger from NC, William, Rodney ll, Amanda, Joseph, Ashley, Alan Jr, Alyssa, and Alice of Va. Great grandchildren; Caitlyn, Trevor Ramsey-Downey of Virginia Beach and Rhesa , Reilyn , Raiden and Ragnar of Midlothian Va., Courtney Leppert, Ariana Wood and Andrew Grainger of Va. Joann will be interned with her husband David at Albert G. Horton Military Cemetery in Suffolk Va. There will be a virtual memorial service after Christmas.
