Newport News - John Baldwin West II, a dedicated and compassionate individual, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, in Newport News, Virginia, at the age of 83. Born on June 10, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, John spent his life committed to serving others through his work and personal connections.

John was known for his unwavering devotion and leadership as the House Manager at LINK of Hampton Roads, a nonprofit organization that strives to empower individuals through education, direct services, advocacy, and outreach programs. His contributions to the community he served will be remembered and cherished by many.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John and Muriel (Stewart) West, and his devoted wife. John leaves behind a dear friend, James Wood, along with numerous friends and acquaintances who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
