Sheila, I hope you get to read this. I have been trying to contact Peter for several years without luck. I am uncertain of the reason for his passing but I know he was loved by you and you, him. It was very apparent every time I got to enjoy the two of you together. I know this must be one of the most difficult times in your journey together. I owe him so much for my beginnings studying birds. He was my mentor and I always look to our times together and his patience and care when I teach budding researchers myself. Love to you both.
