Obituary For Joyce Elaine Mowatt

In Loving Memory of Joyce Mowatt

November 4, 1953 – January 27, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Mowatt on January 27, 2025. Born on November 4, 1953, in the charming town of Falmouth, Jamaica, Joyce was the cherished daughter of Myrtle Scott and John Mowatt. She spent most of her life in Falmouth, where her warm spirit and generous heart touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She migrated to Newport News, Virginia later in life where she spent her final days.

Joyce was the beloved mother of three children: Sean, Latoya, and Dwayne (Chuck). Her love extended beyond her children to her four adoring grandchildren: Arman (Pugs), Armanda, Gabrielle, and Seanna. She was also a treasured sister, aunt, and friend, leaving behind siblings (Puncie, Rennie and Doreen), nieces, nephews, and countless others who were fortunate to know her.

Joyce had a vibrant personality and a zest for life. She was known for her exceptional cooking, filling her home with the aroma of delicious meals and the sound of laughter. She loved socializing with friends and family, often brightening gatherings with her singing and joyous spirit.

Her legacy is one of love, warmth, and community. Joyce will forever be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her ability to bring people together, and the countless lives she touched.

Rest in peace, Joyce. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
