Julie Ann Prescott Foster went to be with the Lord on August 6 th, at age 66. She was preceded in death by her parents Captain (USN) Eustace Harold Prescott and Betty Beckwith Prescott. She is survived by her husband of 40 years Randolph H. Foster, sister Susan P. Leaptrott (husband Tim Leaptrott, children David, Elizabeth, John, and Anna), daughter Amanda S. Cox (husband Christopher Cox) and three grandchildren, Marleigh, Austin, and Hannah. Julie was born in May of 1956, in Jacksonville, Florida. She spent her most memorable school years in Atsugi, Japan and Lemoore, California. In 1974, following in her father’s footsteps, she enlisted in the Navy becoming a Corpsman. She was honored to be sworn in by her father and she served for 28 years. In her travels she met the love of her life, Randy Foster. They were married in 1982, moved to Chesapeake, and welcomed their daughter, Amanda, in 1988. Julie had a passionate love for all animals, except snakes. Over the years, she adopted cats, dogs, ducks, turtles, rats, rabbits, lizards, and skunks. She treasured her time spent with family and friends and loved shopping for them during the holiday seasons. As a member of the Lions Club, she helped provide vision screenings for children. She will be remembered for her compassion, encouragement, and above all, the determination to find a better deal no matter the price tag! Memorial services will be held at Deep Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, September 10 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Craddock Lions Club or ASPCA.
