Obituary For June Faye Latimer Sanderlin

June Faye Latimer Sanderlin, 85, of Va. Beach, VA passed away peacefully on September 17, 2022.

She was born January 10, 1937 in Norfolk, VA, daughter of the late Sidney & Bessie Latimer. She married the late Joseph G. Sanderlin, Jr. on April 27, 1957. He passed away in February, 2022, they were married for 64 years. Faye graduated from Granby High School. She was employed by Virginia Beach Surgery for over 25 years and received many certifications as a medical transcriptionist. This wonderful group of health care providers were much more than a place of employment; they were family to June Faye. She was an avid reader and won many writing contests. She was a member of a branch of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and continued up until her passing the treasured friendships with these ladies (Bobbi Ann, Margaret Ann, and Maggie). They were members of St. Peters Episcopal Church for over 50 years, where Faye sang in the choir and Joe was a lay reader, on the vestry and past Sr. Warden. Faye is survived by her children JoLynn Adams (Mark), of Salem, VA and Joseph G. Sanderlin, III, “JG”, (Mary) of Dublin, OH. Her grandchildren Daniel Keith Staton, Jr. “DK”, Allen Sanderlin, Katie Zimmerman, and Amanda Rawlins (Jonas). Her brother William “Tommy” Latimer (Connie). A service celebrating June Faye and Joes lives will be held October 28, 2022 at 3pm at St. Peters Episcopal Church, Norfolk, VA. The family would like to thank Sr. Core, The Waterford of Va. Beach, Suncrest and Trinity Hospice Care for their devotion to our parents. Many thanks are also offered to the countless friends who provided support and prayers. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of June Faye and Joe can be made to St. Peters Episcopal Church or Duck United Methodist Church, Duck NC.

I knew Joe much better then June Fay because we graduated from Norview together. Our families were friends as we were growing up. Joe and I worked on many Norview reunions. It was sad to loose Joe and now June Fay. But she is at peace. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family. Elizabeth (Hood) Barton
