Kirby Thompson Hart III, 74, a lifelong resident of Petersburg, Virginia passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Born on October 10, 1951, in Petersburg, Virginia. Kirby lived a life defined by dedication, hard work, and unwavering love for his family. He was known for his dependable nature, quiet strength, and the kindness he extended to those around him. Beloved father and family man, an avid golfer and outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and playing golf with family and friends and was a member of the Bass Hunters Fishing Club. He was also a member of the Petersburg Lions Club and Second Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed a career in warehousing and logistics.

Mr. Hart is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Kirby Thompson Hart Jr. and wife George Anne, Father and Mother-in-Law Walter D. Clarke and wife Eleanor, Uncle and Aunt Harry F. Webb Jr. and wife Betty Pat, Brother-in-Law Dale E. Roe, and Niece Melissa Roe-Jones. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Carole C. Hart, Sons Daniel Hart and partner Heather Albrecht, and Jason Hart, Cousin Anne Terrell Fenessy and husband J.D., Sister-in Law Cathy C. Roe, Nephew Eugene Jones and daughters Jordan and Taylor. Nephew Brian P. Roe, wife Melissa, and children Madison, Mackenzie, Bailey, Griffin and Colbie.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
