Obituary For Larry John Canonizado

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry John Canonizado, who left this world on August 4, 2025, at the age of 59. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, on August 25, 1965, Larry lived a life marked by dedication and hard work.

Larry spent his career as a laborer in a furniture warehouse, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic. His commitment to his job and colleagues was evident throughout his years of service. He worked for many years at Grand Furniture, where he took pride in his role and the relationships he built.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Eleanor and Laureto Canonizado. Larry's memory will be cherished by his surviving siblings, Roy Alan Canonizado, Michael Wayne Canonizado, Jeffrey Lee Canonizado, and Blanca Marie Carpenter, who were a constant presence and support in his life.

Larry was a proud Catholic who carried his faith with him throughout his life. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, watching football—especially cheering on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys—and following boxing, with Mike Tyson being his all-time favorite fighter. His hobbies brought him joy and often sparked lively conversations with family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to honor Larry's life and legacy. His family and friends are invited to gather and remember the man who touched their lives in many ways.

Larry will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Simply Cremation is assisting Larry’s family with the arrangements.

I write this with a very heavy heart. Larry John was a big teddy bear everyone who knew him loved him. He made it impossible not too! I don't think I've ever seen him mad and only remember him being sad a handful of times throughout the years. He was always smiling and had a very positive attitude. He will be truly missed! Rest in paradise you my birthday buddy.

Larry John and I were childhood friends. He was one of the kindest, most loving people I've ever known. My mom, God rest her soul, absolutely adored him. In truth, I've never met anyone who didn't love Larry. His warmth touched everyone around him. When Larry arrived in heaven, I'm sure the angels rejoiced. Blessings and deepest condolences to his family.
